3C facilitated the translation of a magic tricks comic book based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts.  The comic book was translated from English to Khmer and is being distributed to schools and villages around Siem Reap Province, with an additional four books shared with children in Kbal Beong Ses Village of Tbong Khmum Province in Cambodia.  Around Siem Reap Province, the book has been shared with 4 schools in Puok District.

 

The magic tricks book exposes children to simple science experiments that they can do at home with regular household items such as lemon, baking soda, vinegar, ice, and carbonated drinks.  Many of the tricks result in a change of matter, e.g. the beginning substance might change from solid to liquid or gas, or result in a change in color.  Through these simple magic tricks, children learn about scientific processes.
