Building Resilient Livelihoods Through Increasing Food Security - Thailand

As a follow-up action to protect freshwater resources in Thailand, 3C was in Mukdahan Province during March 2021 to help three fishing communities living on the Mekong River increase fish stocks and food security through setting up fish conservation zones (FCZ).  Experiences and lessons learned from other communities on the Mekong River have shown that FCZs help to increase fish stocks, thus regenerating aquatic resources for local use.  Signboards were put up to inform on the area of the FCZ, as well as specifics of fines for violating the rules of the FCZ.  Buoys were set out to demarcate the FCZ.
