Training on
Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) to Climate Change
From 25-26 April 2023, 3C in partnership with Last Forests (https://lastforests.org/) conducted a training workshop for Lao government officers on the topic of ecosystem-based adaptation to climate change. The workshop took place in the city of Pakse in southern Laos. Officers from three southern districts of Khong, Pathoumphone, and Soukkhouma Districts working in the field or environment, forestry, water resources, agriculture, as well as representatives of the Lao Women’s Union joined the workshop. The participants learned about climate change, EbA, and were trained on how to use EbA to devise solutions to mitigate impacts of climate change. Participants were also taught how to conduct Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and were given a crash course in carrying out PRA. Hands-on application of PRA will occur in May 2023 when 3C will accompany the participants to six villages in Khong District to collect data and develop EbA plans for each village.
